- Collex Collision Experts was established in 1975 when founder and CEO John Gagliano opened his first body shop on Nine Mile Road in Warren and called it Motor City Collision. In 1985, John opened his second shop in Sterling Heights and changed the company name to "Collex Collision Experts." Over the next 20 years, Collex has evolved into 11 locations and has become Metro-Detroit's #1 collision repair facility. In April of 2007, Collex opened its first out of state location in Ft. Myers, Florida. In addition to Ft. Myers there are now locations in Cape Coral and Naples The company's growth is directly attributable to its high quality of workmanship, excellent customer service, and company philosophy combined with its code of conduct..
